Kyiv authorities on Wednesday announced a “Russian strike that hit a two-story building,” killing 3 and injuring 3.
The US news agency Associated Press published statements by unnamed Ukrainian officials who said Russia had “carried out strikes in several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, targeting infrastructure”.
The same sources indicated that power outages occurred in several Ukrainian cities and in the Republic of Moldova bordering Ukraine, where power lines connect the two countries.
For his part, Moldovan infrastructure minister Ciril Gaburici said that Moldova is experiencing widespread power outages across the country, just like on November 15 last year.
Before that, the media reported that the sounds of explosions were heard in the capital city of Kyiv.
The latest Russian attack came hours after Ukrainian authorities reported a missile attack that destroyed a maternity unit in southern Ukraine overnight, killing a two-day-old baby, the PA reports.
