Moscow and Kiev have carried out a new exchange of prisoners of war, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
“After a new exchange of prisoners between Moscow and Kiev, 35 Russian soldiers have returned from Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement.
The statement says that “Russian soldiers will be transported on board a military plane to Moscow, where they will receive the necessary assistance and undergo rehabilitation in the medical facilities of the Ministry of Defense.”
“All released prisoners receive necessary medical and psychological assistance,” the statement said.
On September 21, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Russia and Ukraine exchanged 200 prisoners of war as part of Turkey’s mediation.
