In Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, the Turkish Embassy organized a cultural event in connection with the “Turkish Cuisine Week”.
The Turkish Embassy in Asuncion announced that the Turkish Cuisine Week is being held from May 21 to 27 under the auspices of Emine Erdogan, the wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
In the statement of the embassy, it is said that a working meeting for cooks and students of culinary schools was organized in this regard.
Meltem Aksen, the wife of Ambassador Serhat Aksen, informed the participants of this activity about traditional Turkish cuisine and its healthy aspects while following the zero waste rules.
The diplomat’s wife prepared “lentil kofte”, a dish consisting of lentils and bulgur and containing high nutritional value.
He also provided the participants with Turkish tea and the traditional method of its preparation.
“Turkish Cuisine Week” events are held under the auspices of the President of the Republic and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, from 21 to 27 in Turkey and abroad.
Numerous ceremonies were held in dozens of cities, Turkish embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions around the world.
The event includes the presentation of various culinary specialties of each province of Turkey, as well as the distribution of local dishes to Turkish and foreign visitors.
The book “Turkish Cuisine with Historical Recipes” prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey was also presented at the event.
