France: Shipowner CMA CGM buys newspaper La Tribune

French shipowner CMA CGM has announced its intention to acquire French newspaper “La Tribune”.

Through a press release, the Marseille Group led by Rodolphe Saade announced that it has submitted a takeover bid to acquire 100% of the capital of the HIMA Group, the owner of the economic newspaper.

“The final completion of the transaction is subject to consultation with the representative bodies of the staff and then obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals,” the shipowner recalled in a press release, also noting the complementarity of this upcoming acquisition to its operations.
