Several people were arrested late Saturday in Paris’ Place de la Concorde, where heavy security is deployed to enforce the ban on demonstrations, an Anadolu correspondent on the ground said.
The young people, some of whom came against the ban issued by the Paris police prefecture, were arrested by the police and gendarmes.
Nevertheless, an impromptu demonstration gathered several hundred people in Piazza Italia, including many trade unionists, who had come to mark their opposition to the use of 49.3 to carry out pension reform.
Faced with the threat of wild gatherings, several metro stations were closed to prevent the flow of protesters into certain sensitive areas of the capital.
The situation is of particular concern to the authorities after the unrest near Concorde Square on Thursday evening, which was followed by violent clashes between police and demonstrators on Friday evening.
