The Inaê Soto Transbrasa boat continues to compete at the Ilhabela International Sailing Week, an event that in 2023 reaches its 50th edition. Measured in the ORC class, the Soto 40 of Santos (SP) made its debut on Sunday (23) during the 100 Years Regatta – Atrevida por Boreste – Brazilian Navy, which opened the disputes.
The 50 nautical mile course was challenging for the group of sailors led by Bayard Neto. It was 16 hours, 47 minutes and 27 seconds of racing around the iconic Alcatrazes Island and back to the Yacht Club of Ilhabela (YCI).
Bayard Neto explains that the boat was affected by the lack of wind, especially at Farol dos Moleques. “The course had a lot of wind which requires a lot of caution when sailing. Overall the day was beautiful and the team sailed very well!”
“The relationship has been excellent and this has been a factor in overcoming the difficulties along the way. I have also observed a lot of caution from everyone and this will help in the coming days,” explained Bayard Neto, commander of Inaê Transbrasa.
“The return race from Alcatrazes went well! The weather on board was excellent despite the light wind. However, these conditions make the competition even more demanding and tiring! It was almost 5pm on the water. We have to face the sequence of races that we will have until Saturday”, Inaê crew member Gustavo Campos.
This Tuesday (25th), the team will compete in the Eduardo Souza Ramos Regatta, which is part of the Ilhabela International Sailing Week calendar.
