Yuri Alberto was first called up to the main team of the national team the day after his 22nd birthday. Since joining Corinthians in the middle of last year, the forward has played in 38 games, scored 15 times and provided five assists. Timão’s number 9 has been directly involved in seven goals for the Campeonato Paulista this season. With the team eliminated early in the State, the official departure came on Sunday.
The player will step into the vacancy that was Richarlison. The striker, who played in the Qatar World Cup for the Brazilian national team, was injured in a match with Tottenham last Saturday. There is still no official information on the severity of the muscle injury, but the player left the field crying.
The second cut was that of Marquinhos. The Paris Saint-Germain defender is recovering from the abdominal injury he suffered in the match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League just under two weeks ago. For his place, Ramon Menezes called Bremer, also at the World Cup in Qatar.
The Brazilian team will face Morocco on Saturday. At 19 (Brasilia time), at the Ibn Batouta stadium in Tangier, Morocco, Brazil will play its first match after Tite’s departure. Still without a certain name to replace him, the team will be led by interim coach Ramon Menezes, recently undefeated champion of the South American U-20 championship.
